Wires biggest defeat at Wilderspool is an 12-84 Trouncing at the hands of Bradford Bulls on September 9 2001. Most successful Coaches are John Dorahy who took The Wire to 5th in the first year of summer rugby 1996, and Paul Cullen who has taken the team into the play offs for the first time 2003. Most unsuccessful coaches must be Steve Anderson and David Plange who between them nearly took the club into relegation, until Paul Cullen took over and rescued the club at the eleventh hour. Darryl Van de Velde makes up the numbers as regards coaches at Wilderspool during SL.
