28th January. Salford 12 Warrington 24. scored five tries as they beat Salford in a comfortable 24-12 friendly win at The Willows. Danny Halliwell put Salford ahead early on but Warrington hit back through Henry Fa'afili after skipper Lee Briers' cross-kick. Martin Gleeson, , Rob Parker and Fa'afili all crossed after the break to complete the win. Lee Briers carried off injured.

MP's Award for Briers Lee Briers has been awarded the inaugural Parliamentarians engage Super League Player of the Year award. The award was voted on by members of the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League group, which consists of MPs and Lords from across the political spectrum. The presentation was made at the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League group's annual dinner, staged at the House of Lords on Tuesday. Runners up in the voting for the award were St Helens duo Paul Wellens and Sean Long. Lord Hoyle, chairman of Warrington Wolves, collected the award on Briers' behalf - who was away on warm-weather training with the Wolves squad. Super League title sponsors engage donated a superb trophy and medal and the award will be re-presented to Briers when Warrington host their first engage Super League fixture of 2007 on February 18 against Bradford Bulls

18th January.Derby Fever Hits Town Wolves fans eager for the start of the new season haven't got long to wait for their first taste of derby action in the scorching Super League opener against local rivals Wigan Warriors at The JJB Stadium. 16th January. Paul Cullen says that the result of bringing Adrian Morley to The Wire is not unlike another Andrew Johns experience. Speaking to BBC Sport he Said" "We've already seen the effect of Adrian's arrival," said Cullen. "It's almost the Andrew Johns phenomenon." "We know what we've bought in Adrian. He's a very dominant character and is up there with the very, very best," he said. "We're not looking to change his game in any way, shape or form. We simply want to provide the environment that he can express himself in. "I'm very excited by the way pre-season has gone and the potential we have for this year. If there are any wrongs to be set right from last year, we now have the personnel to do it. "The training sessions step up a couple of gears because of the quality of personnel you are now working with. 12th January. Wire have signed Vinnie Andersons brother Louis From New Zealand Warriors, the 21 yearold will join the Wire in 2008 when his contract with the Warriors expires in 2008. The player said we are a closeknit family and it may be the last chance that I get to play with my brother Vinnie.
11th January.Andy Bracek and Ben Harrison have joined Widnes on rolling monthly contracts, the reasoning behind the move is to give the players first team experience, they will become immediately available for the Wire if the need arises.

Simon Grix, who underwent an operation last July has injured his shoulder again in the Boxing Day win at Widnes he will be out of the game for at least 3months after being told he needs more surgery on the injury.
Steve Pickersgill has picked up a one-match ban and a £300 fine. The prop was sin-binned during the Widnes game and the incident was placed on report.
4th January.Adrian Morley had his first training session with the Wire squad on Tuesday, after taking extra time off to recover from his tri nations duties; he has started training to prepare for his first season with the Wire.
Jon Clarke is not ready to give up his spot as hooker in the Wire team; he has informed Mark Gleeson and Michael Sullivan that they should expect a contest for that spot. He told the Warrington Guardian, "Obviously getting injured last year gave Sully and Gleese a chance to have a go, but it is up to me to get in and show Cull that I've still got it and I'm ready to play at the top level."
