25th February Warrington 25 Hull FC 24. Warrington started slowly and were 12 nil down after a short space of time the game to and frowed and Wire took the lead 22 -12 Hull fought back and the game went to 24 all before Lee Briers dropped a goal with minutes to go.Cullen said "We weren't at our best and the scoreline was closer than it should have been. "But we're very glad we have Lee Briers. He is a very focused individual and, more often than not, the bloke delivers. "We didn't panic but a lot of guys did not play to their usual standard in the first half. "I was disappointed with our discipline and that has to improve."

22. Ben HarrisonPaul Cullen offered his thoughts on the loss against Bradford He said: "I thought Bradford beat us to the collisions and got their play-the-balls in quicker, leaving us spending most of the game in scramble mode going backwards."That didn't happen in the previous week's win against Wigan."We were faster off our line that night but to be fair we had a stronger and more experienced team on the field at Wigan, and that has to be factored in." With Chris Bridge (torn hamstring) and Adrian Morley (fractured eye socket) from the Wigan game was a blow but Vinnie Anderson
(groin injury) and Gleeson (flu) joined the injured list in the final two days of the build up to the Bradford game, as well as Richie Barnett (torn ankle ligament) in the 42nd minute of Sunday's action have done the club no favours. Cullen hopes the Anderson will be fit to face Hull, Gleeson will return at centre with Brent Grose taking over fron the crocked Richie Barnett on the wing , commenting on the Hull game Cullen said He said: "We fully respect the team that Hull can be and we will have to be better in defence than we were against Bradford right from the kick off."We can't allow Hull to win collisions and poke through our defensive line, so we have to dominate and control it as we did ' against Wigan at the JJB." Due to the injury situation at the Wire the club are keeping a watch on Andy Bracek and Ben Harrison, who are impressing on loan with Widnes.
21st February. Richie Barnett has joined the injured list.Head coach Paul Cullen said today: "He has ankle ligament damage and has gone for three to four weeks.Richie picked up the injury in the second minute of the second half of Sunday's clash with Bradford.
18th February.Warrington: (14) 20 Tries: Westwood (2), Leikvoll Goals: Briers (4)Bradford: (12) 36 Tries: Platt (3), Morrison, Vainikolo, Evans
Goals: Deacon (6) The late withdrawals of Vinnie Anderson thigh and Martin Gleeson flu added to the Wire problems however leading at the Break Warrington had a mad 8 minutes in the second half which allowed Bradford to run in 3 tries, a few decisions by Ashley Klien upset the home fans but hey sh*t happens. Said Paul Cullen "The sense of disappointment is huge but we cannot allow this performance to derail the momentum from last week. "We did not control the ball well enough and paid the ultimate price. If you turn the ball over cheaply, you will get punished. We allowed Bradford to get back into the game when we looked like taking control and I am very disappointed the way we went about our business.Wolves

15 February. Michael Sullivan and Jon Clarke will work the half back and hooker roles between them for the Bradford game, "Jon Clarke defended in the middle channel as a hooker at Wigan because that's where the bigger players are and Michael Sullivan defended out wide," said Cullen.
"Both players rotated offensively between half back and dummy half. Every time Jon needed a spell, Michael jumped in and vice versa, and it worked very well." Sullivan commented "Obviously I haven't trained in the halves in pre-season but just having a year here, getting on a lot better with the guys and things like that make it a lot easier to slot into the position," said the 26-year-old Australian."If need be I'm happy to fill in either role. I'd set myself as a hooker but we need to adapt when injuries come and it worked well on Friday."I thought we got some ball when it was a bit more open in the first half and we showed on the edge that we can get a little combination and I can fill in while Chris is out."On Bradford Paul Cullen said: "The wins we've had against Bradford, and we've had a considerable few over the last four years, have been about us not backing off and allowing Bradford to play, because if you do they'll rattle up the same amount of points that they used to do in the early part of Super League.
"We've found the formula of how to beat Bradford, we've just got to make sure we don't forget it. It's based on hard work and taking the game to them."

10th February.Wigan 10 Warrington 16. :Before we get stats and stuff let us pay credit to a fantastic game played in atrocious conditions , the game was fast skillful and was a credit to all concerned with a great crowd in attendance with over 5,000 from Warrington which must have took some effort to get to the game giving the weather at the time.
Warrington coach Paul Cullen:
"Defensively I thought we were fantastic. We handled everything that was thrown at us tonight, including a couple of potentially very serious injuries."To lose your stand-off in the opening two or three minutes in a game like this is a huge test - and we handled it manfully."Chris Bridge has potentially torn a Adrian Morley has potentially fractured an eye hamstring and socket, but that's the nature of the beast, and it shows how tough this game is."Cullen was also quick to praise the part the Warriors played in what was a hugely absorbing game to kick off the new campaign. He added: "That's a very good Wigan side. They have two half-backs that would grace any team in Thomas Leuluai and Trent Barrett, but our defence held them at bay all night. "I just thought we played the circumstances of the game better than they did, and our defence held all the way through."

We are going to need every single one of them at full voice for the full SO minutes to help us along."Physically and mentally we are prepared for this game but we need to make sure that we deliver across the board.
"I've no doubt in my mind that we have the players and the ability to go there and get a result."But the full 17 need to play at their very best during the full 80 minutes."Adrian Morley, Vinnie Anderson and Paul Johnson are all expected to start at Wigan, Rob Parker Paul Rauhihi and Jon Clarke will also be in the frame. INJURIES
Simon Grix - shoulder injury
1st February. Paul Cullen says that The Wire must show more consistency this season if they are to improve on last years sixth place finish, speaking to the Warrington Guardian he said "The only thing we speak about as a group is an improvement and an improvement in our consistency," he said, "Consistency is absolutely vital."Last year we beat Leeds, Bradford, Wigan and Hull twice. Unfortunately, maybe we took our eye off the ball a little
on occasions and teams from underneath came up and got us.
"The big team that we want to beat is St Helens, that's very obvious, but we've got to make sure it doesn't take too much out of us and we get smacked the following week."It needs to be possibly about a little bit more respect for teams and the fact that if we can do it to Leeds, Bradford, Hull and Wigan then other teams can do it to us. But the bottom line is that the injury situation is probably "the most important factor in that."Brent Grose and Paul Rauhihi both missed the game at Salford and Lee Briers came off after receiving a knock to his shin, Paul Cullen says however that all three players will be available for the first game of the season at Wigan.
