29th April. Bradford 36 Warrington 24: A number of senior players returned to the squad today and the difference was noticable, after going 18-6 down Wire recovered to 18-18, only to fall away in the last 15 minutes.A good effort which should set the team up for the Millenium Stadium next Sunday.Morley on his return said"I'm delighted to come through the game," he said. "My face felt good and my fitness wasn't an issue but it was a disappointing result. "My timing was probably out a bit. I haven't played much football this year and I was obviously excited to play so it was a combination of the two things. "There were a couple of mis-timed challenges but there were nothing too serious. "I was disappointed to be put on report. The ref said he didn't see it but got a report from the touch judge. "There was nothing in it. I challenged for the ball and caught Iestyn but he was down on the floor. There was no contact with the head so I'm sure I'll be fine."

Warrington coach Paul Cullen admitted the successful return of his major close-season signing was a positive to emerge from a fourth successive defeat. "Adrian Morley put himself about the field today," he said. "He has a lot of ground to make up in his opinion. "He had a very energetic and enthusiastic stint and no-one could expect that to be faultless in the circumstances. We are very glad to have him back in the ranks and leading the way forward. "He's been out for an awfully long time and we're very glad to have him through his first stint without any injuries."A 17-6 penalty count doesn't allow us to play rugby," added Cullen. "You've got to credit Bradford. For 38 minutes of the first half, they did absolutely nothing wrong. "They were never not square, never offside, never interfered at the play-the-ball and a 6-0 penalty count for 38 minutes was credit to the Bradford discipline. "To go in at 18-18 on the back of those stats was remarkable and then six or seven consecutive penalties took us to the wrong end of the field."

Wolves find weight is the key: Speaking to the Warrington Guardian Paul Cullen said: "The weight matters. Big Chris Leikvoll and Paul Rauhihi weigh in at 120kg and we're putting guys out there that are 100kg."We had Anthony Jerram, who is a centre, playing second row and Mike Cooper is 15 stone. There's a great imbalance in weight and experience."We know we've had a difficult month, it's there for all to see and we were underweight at the weekend and a tough, rough, rugged French pack set about us and did us some damage in the middle of the field."But the likes of Chris Leikvoll and Adrian Morley will make a difference to that."regarding Adrian Morley he added. "There's a very reasonable chance he'll play at prop," said the Wolves boss."That will depend on if we lose any more back rowers and if we get Chris Leikvoll back, we've got to wait to the back end of the week."We'd like to think Adrian gives himself a massive lift and the team on the back of that."He's been a great character behind the scenes in this early period of the season and we're just looking forward to Adrian Morley settling down, getting into his game and picking it up again."He's in great shape physically, he's trained exceptionally well and he's pushed himself and other players very hard."

26th April. Paul Cullen has revealed that Stacey Jones is a target for the Wire when he comes out of contract at the Catalan Dragons at the end of the season. He told the Warrington Guardian "Any club would be interested in a player of Stacey Jones1 ability. "He was superb on Saturday and he's probably in the best form he's been in since lie left the New Zealand Warriors. Every kick that left his foot landed where he wanted it to." After the unfortunate early retirement forced on Andrew Johns Wire have had to look elsewhere for a player of John's calibre, Jones he thinks could be that player, "Without a doubt Stacey Jones is in that bracket. He is a world class scrum half but it's far too early "What we need to do and what we're going to focus on is what we're going to do in the next five weeks as opposed to what's going to happen after the next five months. "As a club we constantly look to review our process, whether it be our playing structure, coaching structure or internal infrastructure. "It's always in review but the next five weeks are very important to us and that's what we've got to focus on."

Rumours persist that Ellory Hanley could be joining the club in some capacity, he was seen at the Catalan game with Simon Moran .

Adrian Morley is expected to make his second comeback fo the Wire at Bradford on Sunday and promises a no holds barred return, he told the Warrington Guardian: "Once I get the green light from the doctors, in mind that's saying you're "To happen twice was desperately unlucky, we're talking hundreds to one, maybe thousands. To do it a third time they've said I'd be the unluckiest man in the world. "I'm confident it won't happen again, I've just got to get back playing now. "Rugby league's a game where you can't really have thoughts about injuries when you're on the field because that's when you start getting injuries. "Every game I've played I've not thought I'm holding back and that won't be the case at Bradford. On his two injuries he said "I just couldn't believe it," he said. "After the initial disappointment of the first time it happened, I was just desperate to get out there a second time and play my game. "To do it again was hugely disappointing. It was so unexpected and the fact it's a new club as well and to do it twice. "I've probably had more serious injuries but this has been the most frustrating and disappointing moment of my whole career. "I just want to get my Warrington career started now. Hopefully all my bad luck and injuries are out of the way and once I start playing I'll string a few games together."

Vinnie Anderson Paul Johnson and Steve Pickerskill have outside chances of playing at Bradford, late fitness tests will determine if any of them do.

24th April.Wire have added Andrew Bracek to the list of injuries after he sustained a neck injury after a spear tackle in the engage Round 11 fixture against Catalan Dragons.

22nd April. Catalan Dragons 27 Warrington 16.Paul Cullen said "Those on the field didn't deliver and we're very disappointed as a group that our discipline was not good enough to win a game of rugby league. "Through our own fault we virtually spent 80 minutes defending our own try line. "We couldn't complete sets at their end of the field to save our lives and when we completed and kicked, invariably any one of a number of individuals gave a penalty away."

18th April.Paul Cullen has announced his 20 man squad to face Catalan Dragons at the weekend,Adrian Morley is included but there is still a doubt as to whether he will play.

1 Stuart Reardon 2 Henry Fa'afili 3 Martin Gleeson 5 Brent Grose 7 Lee Briers 9 Jon Clarke 10 Paul Rauhihi 11 Adrian Morley 12 Ben Westwood 13 Vinnie Anderson 14 Mark Gleeson 18 Richie Barnett 19 Steve Pickersgill 21 Andy Bracek 22 Ben Harrison 23 Mike Wainwright 24 Chris Riley 25 Mike Cooper 26 Kevin Penny 28 Anthony Jerram .

Lee Briers signed for The Wire on this day in 1997 ,he was signed by the then Wire coach Darren van der Velde from St Helens. Lee has made a huge impression at Warringon he is currently fourth in the goal kicking list at the club and fourth in the list of players who have scored 1000 points, to date he has scored 1872.

17th April . Paul Cullen has revealed that Great Britain forward Adrian Morley could make a surprise comeback against Catalans Dragons in Perpignan on Saturday. The second rower has not completed a full match for the Wire after suffering two facial injuries in the first six weeks of the season. But with plenty of problems throughout his injury-ravaged squad, Cullen has named the former Sydney City Rooster man in his initial 20-man line-up. "We have to name a 20-man squad and Adrian is less injured at this moment in time than Paul Johnson and Rob Parker, who are next in line to return," said Cullen. "If Adrian doesn't play this week, then hopefully he will play next week. "He will have medical clearance on Thursday and whether we decide to exercise that and play him without a full-on training session two days later is another matter." Warrington were without nine first team players for Sunday's 52-10 home defeat by Leeds but Cullen added: "This will not be a performance decision, it will be a medical decision. No-one took a chance first time out and certainly no one is going to take any kind of chance second time. "If he gets clearance on Thursday, we will use the time out there for Moz to work with the team so we can pinch two or three days in preparation for Bradford. "Adrian is here for three years, not three months, and there is a long way to go this season yet."Adrian added "I feel really fit but I'm no expert on facial injuries and we'll go with what the medical people say. "I feel really fresh because it has been an extension of the off season in a way. The only thing I'm shy of is contact and I'll start that as soon as the doctor says so." Lee Briers is also expected to return on Saturday

From the Warrington Wolves website:Warrington Wolves would like to send out a massive thank you to all their fans that supported the Club yesterday during the engage Super League XII Round 10 defeat against Leeds Rhinos yesterday. The crowd of 10,155 cheered on the team throughout the match and continued their vocal support as the team warmed down after the final hooter. Fans had to be requested to leave the stadium long after the players had retreated to the changing rooms. Yesterday's game saw The Halliwell Jones Stadium reach the total of 1/2 million fans through the turnstiles since it opened its gates on the 21st February 2004. After 48 matches the average crowd has been 10,482.

5th April. Warringon 10 Leeds 52. The fact that Wire were missing nine senior players was the deciding factor in a very one sided second half..The fans however out shouted the Leeds fans in the second half and a knot of supporters stayed behind singing untill 5 o'clock. Paul Cullen: "We have to acknowledge the bravery and effort of our players who were up against a virtually full-strength Leeds side. "Our first-half defence was very good, but we could have done without the tries just before and after half-time. "I cannot speak highly enough of the fans and a lot of our young players will benefit from this experience." With so many missing, the Warrington coach, Paul Cullen, was forced to dig so deep into his under-21s team that he had to call Anthony Jerram away from his day job as an apprentice engineer to join the full-time squad in training this week.

9th April. Warrington 18 Huddersfield 26 : The lack of 7 first teamers plus the further loss of Vinnie Anderson and Chris Bridge late in the game proved a bridge to far for a Wire side that looked tired and out of sorts , a number of plays just lacked that bit of luck or better direction but Huddersfield just about deserved the win.

7th April. Salford 32 Warrington 34.Despite the absence of six sidelined regulars and a banned Ben Westwood, it was captain Lee Briers' return to the side to kick five crucial conversions, which eventually proved decisive. Both sides ran over the whitewash six times, but in the end it was the inspirational skipper's five goals from six attempts that saw Warrington home, as his opposite number John Wilshere landed just four of his goal chances.

Paul Cullen (on the return of captain Lee Briers)"We are very glad to have Lee back. He passed a very late fitness test and he has marshalled his team very well and we have done enough to win a very tough game."The group has worked exceptionally well and worked very hard for each other to fashion the win.""We won't over-concern ourselves with the points we shipped in at the back end of the game because we put a lot of effort in to get in front at 34-18. No excuses from Paul Cullen , injuries will not be used as an excuse if results do not go our way says Paul Cullen.Youngsters Ben Harrison, Andy Bracek, Mike Cooper, Chris Riley, Kevin Penny, back rower/centre Matty Blythe and centre Anthony Jerram have all have been named in the squad for the Salford game, He told the Warrington Guardian: "It's the old cliche, one man's misfortune is another man's opportunity. "There's a chance for some of these young players to play two, three or four matches. "Although we have received a number of body blows again, what we have found this week is the fresh approach that the younger players have brought to the way we work. "Ben Harrison, Andy Bracek and Michael Cooper are sharp, very alert and desperate to get a piece of first-team action. "No-one has been down and despondent because we've lost players. We're all very resilient because it's happened on a regular basis and unfortunately we're used to it. "Last year's injury situation takes some beating and this one's not far off it but we're not in the mindset of the word 'crisis'. "We have a no-excuse culture and there will be none offered whether we win, lose or draw at Salford." He added Cullen said: "Over the past couple of seasons we've had a bad Friday and a good Monday at Easter and we're determined to turn that around. "The only time we've beaten Salford in the past couple of seasons is convincingly in pre-season friendlies and we're determined to do something about it."

Mike Wainwright has been named as Wolves' player of the month for March.

Lee Briers' next Testimonial event is a golf day at Birch-wood Golf Club on Wednesday.
