31st March. 2006 Challenge Cup Final Venue The RFL today (31.03.06) announced that the venue for the 2006 Challenge Cup Final will be Twickenham Stadium. Rugby League's governing body had to make the switch after it received formal notice from WNSL (Wembley National Stadium Ltd) that the new national stadium would not be completed in time to stage the game on August 26. The RFL is confident that the 2006 Powergen Challenge Cup Final will be a success at the changed venue given the sell out crowds that have attended the fixture while it has been on the road since 1999. The decision to move the match to Twickenham will enable supporters to maintain any travel and accommodation plans they may have already made for the Bank Holiday weekend. Richard Lewis, Executive Chairman of the RFL, said: "Naturally, it is disappointing not to be playing this prestigious game at the new stadium, but the fact of the matter is the Challenge Cup Final is all about the event. In August, fans and TV viewers will still experience the unique atmosphere and spectacle that has made the Challenge Cup Final a key part of the national sporting calendar - and Twickenham is a world-class facility in which to showcase this premier Rugby League match." RFU Business Operations Director, Paul Vaughan said: "I can confirm that the RFU has agreed with the RFL to host the Challenge Cup Final at Twickenham on August 26. We're delighted that we can help out and provide Twickenham Stadium for such a prestigious occasion. We've worked well with the RFL in the past when we hosted the opening match of the 2000 Rugby League World Cup and the 2001 Challenge Cup and we look forward to doing so again." Commenting on the changed venue, tournament title sponsors Powergen gave the move their full backing. Mike Thompson, Powergen's Head of Sponsorship, said: "Our sponsorship of the Powergen Challenge Cup has been a success based on the values of the game, the heritage of the competition and huge interest from Rugby League fans, communities and the media. We are looking forward to this year's final." The RFL confirmed that all tickets sold to date are transferable to Twickenham. RFL Ticketing will be allocating all current bookings to seats over the next few weeks and contacting supporters by post. Explaining the process for obtaining tickets to the changed venue, Simon Malcolm, RFL Marketing Director, said: "Transferred tickets will be posted to supporters well in advance of the event. We will also be loading information regarding travel and parking onto the RFL website." The RFL also confirmed that it will be following its original plans for delivering a truly memorable event on the day. This includes staging a final of the Powergen Champion Schools Tournament, a re-design of the Cup Final medals and a pre-match ceremony to celebrate the great history of the competition, as well promoting the game in modern way that appeals to the widest audience possible. "The 2006 Powergen Challenge Cup Final may have had to change the place where its played, but it remains firmly in place in the hearts of Rugby League supporters who, I have no doubt, will celebrate the culmination of this great knock-out competition in style at Twickenham in August," concluded Malcolm.

Service Area Trials a Success. The Warrington Service Area (WSA) team have hailed the success of a series of trials to discover the next batch of Rugby League stars. After gaining the Service Area of the year award in 2005 the WSA coaching panel decided to broaden their horizons and they have since worked tirelessly to set up the hugely successful open trials. The team are responsible for the provision of Rugby League in the town, amateur clubs, schools and The Wolves work in partnership in order to ensure that young players maximize their potential within their chosen sport. The trials attracted with more than 250 youngsters from across the North West showing off their skills and talents in matches and training sessions. Today (Friday) see the final open trial of the series with coaches having the arduous tasks of selecting a 20 man squad in each age group to represent the town. Beyond the weekly 80 minutes of Engage Super League the club has forged strong links within the local community and together with schools and sport clubs the ambitious project was devised. Among the established clubs in attendance newcomers from as far a field as Crewe were welcomed. The hordes of youngsters from a variety of sporting background have played in a competitive spirit throughout and the coaches have been delighted with the attitude of all and ability of all the trialists. The club hopes to one day reap the rewards of these trials with the finest players involved following the career path to The Wolves professional ranks. Dave Elliot, Performance Manager at Warrington Wolves said: "It was decided that we need to have a greater push at attracting promising athletes from all sporting backgrounds, and not just rugby league, and to give all young players an opportunity to represent their local Warrington team. There was a great "push" to inform all the local community about the Service Area games, and their part in this process." The work began with letters to all local secondary schools (PE teachers), local amateur club co-coordinators and all age group coaches informing them of the games and of their responsibility to nominate any player they feel would benefit from the service area, and who might have the skills and ability to gain a place of the Warrington Service Area squads. Keen coaches nominated more than 250 players for this seasons trail games and they joined the clubs scholarship stars. Youngsters in age brackets Under 12s, 13s, 14s, and 15s trialed from Wednesday, March 23rd through to Friday, March 31 at local venues Victoria Park, Priestley College, Crosfields Rugby League club and Loushers Lane. 11 high schools nominated players through the programme, and ten clubs, including Rugby Union outfits and the Crewe Steelers chose their finest players. Dave Elliott added: "The Service Area and Warrington Wolves are very pleased with the response they had from, both the high schools and local amateur clubs regarding nominations. "There were a lot of "new players" to both the Service Area structure and also to rugby league. Due to this the standard of the trials where very impressive, and selection to the final 20 man squad will be very difficult.

30th March. Warrington Wolves have extended the contracts of senior squad members Jon Clarke and Chris Bridge. The pair, who have both started the Engage Super League XI in a rich vain of form penned new deals today and pledged their long term commitment to the club. Clarke, has signed for a further two years at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and his contract will now expire in November 2008. The Physical hooker has an infectious competitive spirit; his versatility saw him switch between dummy half and back row with great success last season. Generally used as the Wolves’ starting no.9, he hits big in the early part of the game and is a strong defender from marker. He was Super League’s most effective tackler in 2004 with a 99% success rate, and was fourth highest tackler in the competition in 2005. Clarke Represented Great Britain Academy whilst coming through the junior ranks at Wigan, he played in their 1997 Premiership Final winning side against St Helens. Followed his ex Wigan coach John Monie to London Broncos in 2000, but returned north during the 2001 season when the Wolves were forced to sign a hooker on loan to solve an injury crisis. Jon an instant impact with some courageous performances against top sides to earn a permanent deal at the club, and has grown into a stalwart of Paul Cullen’s Wolves. Chris Bridge - signed until 2009Chris Bridge has penned a three year new deal, which expires in November 2009. The Wolves paid Bradford £30,000 at the start of 2005 to secure the services of one of the most exciting natural talents in the country on a three year deal. Bridge featured on the wing towards the end of last season but favours stand-off or centre. For a playmaker he has a powerful physique and hits hard in defence, he has dangerous footwork and can step through the line. One of the heroes of England Academy’s historic first ever series victory over the Australian Schoolboys, Bridge played centre in both ‘Tests’ of the 2002 Academy series. Oldham born, he played for North West Counties and Lancashire schools as a junior before turning professional with Huddersfield Giants Academy. Upon the Giants’ relegation from Super League in 2001, he was ruled a free agent at tribunal enabling Super League champions Bradford Bulls to sign him. A dominating figure for the Bulls’ Academy, he won the Dave Valentine Memorial Trophy in their Senior Academy Grand Final defeat to Wigan Warriors in 2003. Head Coach Paul Cullen said: "We are delighted to secure the long term future of both Jon Clarke and Chris Bridge at Warrington Wolves. To extend the deals of these two influential squad members is a huge boost for the club."

National League Grand Final Goes to Warrington The RFL has confirmed that the 2006 LHF Healthplan National League Grand Final will be staged at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington on Sunday, October 8. For the last four years the Finals have been hosted by the neighbouring Halton Stadium in Widnes but following Widnes Vikings' relegation from the engage Super League at the end of last season there was a need to provide a neutral venue for the Finals. For the last two years the Finals day has featured a triple-headed fixture with the LHF League Three Grand Final, the LHF League One Qualifying Final and the LHF League One Grand Final all being staged on one day. Simon Malcolm, the RFL's Director of Marketing, said: "The Halliwell Jones is one of the most modern stadiums in British Rugby League. It has superb facilities. "It also has the advantage of not being shared with a soccer club and that removes the possibility of fixture clashes in October. "Warrington Wolves have demonstrated that they can successfully stage major Rugby League occasions by hosting several international fixtures and they are superbly situated near the motorway network, major rail links and both Manchester and Liverpool airports. "The LHF Healthplan National League Finals day has developed into one of British Rugby League's premium events when players from the community professional clubs have an opportunity to take centre stage while it is a great value day out for all the family. "The RFL has been very satisfied with the way that the Halton Stadium hosted the Finals day but obviously we have to play such a prestigious fixture on a neutral ground".

The Huddersfield water carrier who collided with Henry Fa'afilli in the February game has been fined £100 with £ 100 costs. Team to play will appear here when announced.

26th March. Wakefield 21 Warrington 22. After a lot of Warrington pressure Tadulala scores for Wakefield after 10 minutes, Rooney converts 6-0, a Rooney penalty makes in 8-0. A Rooney try after 19 mins puts Wakefield further in front goal taken 14-0. It is all Wakefield as they go close again Wire seem to be at sixes and sevens after bossing the first six or seven minutes, Another Wakefield try by Rooney on 25 mins and a goal by Rooney makes it 20-0. A drop goal from Rooney on 36 mins pushes Wakefield to 21 points Wire 0. Half Time 21-0. Warrington score first in the second half as Kohe-Love scores after 47 mins, Briers misses the kick, score 21- 4, it's all Wire at this time and we go close on a number of occasions, on 59 mins Chris Bridge goes on a jinking run and gets 4 points after good work from Michael Sullivan, Bridge converts his own try the score is 21-10, Lee Briers kicks a brilliant 40-20 Bridge is stopped short of the line, Wakefield knock on, from the scrum Briers knocks on, Tadulala returns the favour Briers goes over the line and drops the ball. Logan Swann scores on 69 mins after yet more good work from Suillivan, Bridge goals it's 21-16, Wire score through Bridge 74 mins in front of the sticks after a Briers kick, Bridge kicks Wire to the front, score is 21-22. A terrific take by Barnett stops a Wakefield effort, Obst kicks Grose collects for an easy take. With determination and courage a fantastic display by Wire in general and Sullivan in particular.Said Paul Cullen" "That fight and team spirit that we showed in the second half wasn't there sufficiently last week, but it was there today. "It was a win for team spirit. We have had half a dozen players who are nowhere near the best of their form. "We were too soft in the first half, but too tough for them in the second."

Warrington Wolves under 21's side went to the top of the Senior Academy Championship as Gary Chambers' side ran in fifteen tries in a relentless hammering of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats young rookies. A resounding 84-0 win came thanks to a performance of maturity, despite the visitors fielding only three players over the age of 21. With a pack bolstered by Mark Gleeson, Mark Hilton and Danny Lima, The Wolves began punching holes in The Wildcats defence from the outset and it was only a matter of time before the breakthrough came. It was Gleeson after eight minutes who broke the deadlock finishing well after good work from Grix to create space. Grix, playing at loose forward was chief tormentor throughout the first-half bursting through the Wakefield defence at will and feeding quality ball to the pacey back line. His growing physique will no doubt stand him in good stead when he makes the inevitable step up to first grade. Gleeson made up for the disappointment of missing out in Paul Cullen's 18 man squad by attacking The Wildcats defensive line with his trademark vigour and guile. He added to the score on ten minutes burrowing home from close range as The Wolves began to turn the screw. Grix added another try and Andy Mousdale continued his form in front of goal by adding the extras. Another Super League squad member Andy Bracek showed his quality with two quick scores, the former St Helens forward later went on to complete a rare hat-trick. Bracek busts through to score Reverting to full back Chris Riley showed some strong defence and took his one opportunity superbly racing 50 metres passed The Wildcats defence before scoring under the sticks. With Warrington in control Chambers was given the chance to shuffle his pack and rest Hilton, Harrison and Lima. Unfortunately for The Wildcats the replacements were no less forgiving; Mike Johnson, Anthony Jerram, Matty Bryers and Michael Cooper all acquitted themselves well from the bench as further inroads were made. Throughout the second half The Wolves continued to pile on the misery for the home side with tries at regular intervals. Energetic young winger Kevin Penny took advantage of the gaps to fashion a hat-trick, he continued to link up well with the dangerous Sam Gee, who registered twice. Steven Roper took over the goal kicking duties and converted some difficult touch line attempts. As the game entered the latter stages it was clearly a case of men against boys as The Wolves refused to ease off and ran riot with tries from all over the field. As the crowd began to pour into Belle Vue for the main event The Wolves second string began to showboat with some cheek offloads and ambitious long passes. For the home side only Mark Tinsdale and Aaron Dobek were able to show any threat on the attack as The Wildcats were nilled for the second week in succession. Warrington now top the championship with a 100% record from the opening five fixtures, Bradford, Hull and Leeds make up the chasing pack with eight points each. Warrington have rebuffed an audacious Castleford bid to take Chris Bridge and Michael Sullivan on loan, Castleford who were recently in a wrangle involving St Helens and Wigan when they were in favour of St Helens player Keith Mason who is on loan at the club going to Wigan only to have the deal scuppered by St Helens much to the chagrin of Wigan Supremo Uncle Mo Lindsey, Bridge who has become a key member of the Wire team and Sullivan who got Warrington man of the match against Catalan and any idea that they would be allowed to go on loan to Cas is to put it mildly ludicrous.

Paul Cullen acknowledged that complacency was the key after the defeat by Catalan Dragons, he has asked the players to take a long hard look at themselves ahead of the game at Wakefield on Sunday. Noone goes out on to the field to play badly, players should look at the reasons they play the game be it for family, friends, supporters on themselves, they came up short against Catalan, players were not taking in what they were being told about playing opposition from the lower reaches of the table, I agree with Paul players have to realise that in this game of rugby league you only have to be off your game slightly and you will get punished, Saint Helens, Leeds and Bradford have all been hammerd recently because of an assumption that they would winn noone in rugby league these daye can make that assumption, ask Karl Harrison whose Salford team are playing out of their skin at the minute, it is through belief, fear and perhaps a bit of good coaching that they are where they are in the table.

Team News.Martin Gleeson has had eight stiches in a facial wound he received in the Catalan game, he has no break but must be considered doubtful for the Wakefield game, Ben Westwood has picked up a virus and is also a doubt. Chris Bridge may take over a centre spot with Michael Sullivan going into scrum half.

Lee Briers has no cartilage damage and will not need surgery. He is expected to play on .

17th March.Warrington 26 Catalan 28. A lethargic first half from Wire saw Catalan equal Clarkes try following the first poor decision from Ganson who saw Barrnett knock on when the ball clearly hit his chest, some good work from Catalan saw the team go in at half time leading 16-10. The second half saw the Wire come alive and go into the lead 26-16 but not before the best try of the season at Warrington was given as a forward when Sullivan clearly passed the ball back and Bridge had to reach back to retrieve the ball, Barnett did good work to score till that cretin Ganson pulled the play back to the dismay of a disbelieving Wire crowd .Wire will have to improve if they are to get anything out of this season.Said Cullen "It was a very poor effort. We started slow, invited them into a fight and we couldn't win it. "We carried too many individuals who have let us down very badly. You could see from the first set that we were going to play soft."

Four in a Row! Warrington Wolves Under 21's side lead the league table after maintaining their 100% record in the Senior Academy Championship. Gary Chambers side brushed aside a strong Wigan U21 side on Tuesday night (March 14th) with a 44-16 win at Wilderspool. Shocking weather conditions failed to dampen the spirit of The Wolves in a very physical and entertaining match. It was Wigan who opened the scoring with an unconverted try, but Warrington hit back with tries from Riley (2) and Archer, all converted by Moulsdale to give The Wolves a 18-4 half-time lead. Wigan started the second half well with two converted tries to bring the score to 18-16. Immediately Warrington upped the pace and aggression and Blythe scored a converted try. The home side continued their domination in the last 20 minutes with further tries from Riley, Grix, Bracek and Johnson, Moulsdale carried on his good form with the boot adding two further conversions making the final score 44 - 16. The win gives The Wolves four wins in four after earlier win against Salford, Huddersfield and Hull. Gary Chambers will now take his side to Belle Vue on Sunday, March 26th (kick off 12.45pm) for a clash against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. Chambers said: "We put in another excellent performance against a quality Wigan side. We have plenty of players on their game and selecting a side is becoming increasingly difficult. Plenty of the younger emerging players are proving their worth and we hope to take our current form to Wakefield."

16th March. Team News - 18 Man Squad Long term absentees Stuart Reardon and Paul Rauhihi remain sidelined ahead of Saturday evening's clash between Warrington Wolves and Catalans Dragons. Paul Cullen has selected a strong looking 18 man squad including Michael Sullivan and Danny Lima, the trio all featured in the Wolves Senior Academy victory over Wigan on Tuesday night. Stuart Reardon (hand) and Paul Rauhihi (hamstring) are expected to be available for selection in the coming weeks.

Doubts over Lee Briers may force a squad change for the Wire's game against Catalan Dragons, it seems that Lee has been playing the last few games with a knee problem that has been quite sore and may require a scan to determine what the problem is, Michael Sullivan is on standby to replace Briers after a good performance for the Academy team in the game against Wigan Warriors which The Wire 44-16. Rauhihi and Reardon will not be rushed back into the team after getting over injuries another 3 weeks should see them both available for selection. Paul Cullen knows where to expect any threat from the Dragons to come from and it will be down the middle with big players like Fakir, Chan and former Warrington player Jerome Guisset who would like to make a big impact at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

On the matter of team selection I do hope that Paul Cullen will respect the Warrington Faithfull and put out a full squad against the London Skolars and not take the opportunity to use a modern parlence, ie rest a few players, it only upsets the fans who pay good money to watch their team.

The DVD of the win at Wigan has sold out however the club hope to have some more ready for Saturday.

Bridge Hoping to Retain Half-Back Spot Chris Bridge in ActionWolves’ half back Chris Bridge says he is more than happy to stay out the limelight at The Halliwell Jones Stadium as Warrington hope to continue their climb up the Engage Super League table. This Saturday evening Warrington Wolves play host to the Catalans Dragons and Bridge, a £30,000 signing from Bradford Bulls at the start of 2005 is hoping to continue displaying his early season form. After being left out of the first fixture against Salford Bridge was given an opportunity to prove his worth at Huddersfield; he took his chance by the scruff of the neck and was unlucky to find himself on the losing side at The Galpharm Stadium. Since that defeat Bridge has retained his place in the starting thirteen; however that doesn’t mean he’s resting on his laurels. He believes one disappointing effort could see any player dropped out of Paul Cullen’s starting line up. Bridge said: "I’m really pleased at how things are going at the moment, there is plenty of competition for places so to be starting shows you’re playing well." "We have a very strong squad across the board and every lad knows if you’re not coming up with the goods then you will be dropped. I feel I’m working well with Lee and it’s good to see him kicking well, I don’t mind if he has the goal kicking duty if he is doing the business." After penning a three year deal Bridge quickly established himself in Paul Cullen’s side featuring on the wing towards the end of last season after spells at scrum half, stand-off and centre. In Super League XI Oldham born Bridge has impressed at scrum half and is planned to keep hold of his starting jersey. For a playmaker he has a powerful physique and hits hard in defence, Wigan Warriors found to their cost last week that Bridge has dangerous footwork and can step through the line with ease. He added: "We are only a few games in, but I’m benefiting from being fully fit. I must admit I was lucky not to have broken my arm and delighted when I got the all clear, I don’t want to miss out." "As a team we are beginning to fire and personally I feel my link up play is coming on well. I’m combining really well with Toa Kohe-Love at the moment, I’ve worked on my passing and I’m simply trying to create openings by spinning it out for Toa and the other lads." Bridge first caught the eye as one of the heroes of England Academy’s historic first ever series victory over the Australian Schoolboys, he played centre in both ‘Tests’ of the 2002 Academy series. Chris also played for North West Counties and Lancashire schools as a junior before turning professional with Huddersfield Giants Academy.

10th March. Wigan12 Warrington 24. It was Warrington's first win at the JJB stadium. After some Wigan pressure Fletcher scores for Wigan after 23 minutes on his first game back after a serious illness, Danny Tickle kicked the goal to give Wigan a 6-0 lead, 3 minutes later Richie Barnett scores in the corner ,Briers scored a brilliant touch line conversion. A well worked try from the impressive Chris Bridge who went off against St Helens with a badly bruised arm, Briers converted to make it 6-12 to Wire at Half time. The first thing that happens of note in the second half if wayne Godwin getting 10 minutes for a late tackle on Briers Briers converted the penalty, it then became a dropgoalathon as Briers scores 3 on the trot, Henry Fa'afili scores in the corner after 67 minutes and that man Briers hits a goal line conversion to make it Wigan 6 Wire 23, Wayne Godwin scores a try which Moran goals 12-23, The Wigan Walk begins, Lee Briers gets his fourth drop goal, 12-24. Commented Paul Cullen:" If you consider the first 40 minutes, Wigan spent 35 minutes attacking our tryline and scored one try, and we spent five minutes attacking theirs and scored two. "It was a monumental effort in defence, and I think we only missed one tackle in that first half, when they scored their try. "Psychologically we broke the back of the game then. We knew in the dressing room at half-time we had the game."

9th March. :Briers: "In The Right Direction" Warrington Wolves captain Lee Briers believes it's time his side begin converting solid team performances into league points. Halfback and playmaker Briers has started the season strongly clocking up 26 points and picking up three man of the match awards however the only real statistic worrying Briers is Warrington's two points from their opening four Engage Super League fixtures. Despite a slightly disappointing start to the campaign Briers says boys from The Halliwell Jones Stadium are heading in the right direction and hopes Paul Cullen's men will soon be climbing the league ladder. Briers explained: "We have been putting in some good performances, but not always getting the results we want. There is no doubt the side is beginning to gel and we are heading in the right direction, it's early days." Local rivals Wigan have almost mirrored The Wolves start with one win from four games including last week surprise defeat against Salford City Reds. Briers added: "Wigan have made a similar start to their campaign, but I think it will be only a matter of time before we both start showing what we can do on the field." "We have a strong squad available for selection, as do Wigan. They have quality all over the field particularly in Sean O'Loughlin, who has proved why he is captain at such a young age. Dennis Moran can be a gamebreaker and we will have to watch him."

Derby Fever Hits Warrington Wolves' fans who have purchased tickets for tonight's derby clash with Wigan Warriors have netted the club £3,000. Loyal followers have flocked to Wolfware to buy their seats ahead of the crucial clash between the two local rivals at the JJB Stadium. Tickets remain on sale at Wolfware until 5pm and the club would like to thank fans who purchased seats in advance, your support is invaluable to the team and the club. Any fans unable to get to the club shop before 5pm needn't worry as approximately 1,000 spectators can now pay at the turnstiles. Dave Gittins, Ticket Office Manager Comments: "Last season saw the club completely fill the JJB's North Stand and it would be fantastic to do so again, so we encourage all fans with or without a ticket to make the short journey to Wigan tonight to show your support. Many thanks go to those supporters investing in the club by purchasing in advance; we really do have the most passionate supporters in Super League." The club have benefited from an Engage Super League initiative in which visitors retain 10% of all away ticket sales. Due to record away ticket sales last season, spectators helped to raise over £15,000 for The Wolves. wolfmail.

Wolves coach Paul Cullen, with virtually a full-strength pack to choose from, has added Rob Parker in place of Danny Lima for the final 18-man squad. "Rob Parker’s recovery from injury gives me the opportunity to rotate the pack," said Cullen, who is delighted with his side’s improved form. "We have improved with every outing since round one. Unfortunately we came up against the best side in the competition last week - and we were one score off them. "It is a mark of our progress that we were very disappointed we didn’t win. The mood in the camp is positive." 18-man squad: Brent Grose Henry Fa'afili Martin Gleeson Toa Kohe-Love Lee Briers Michael Sullivan Chris Leikvoll Jon Clarke Mark Hilton Logan Swann Mike Wainwright Paul Noone Mark Gleeson Ben Westwood Paul Wood Richie Barnett Rob Parker Chris Bridge

Wolves Fans Snap Up Tickets With tomorrow night's crunch derby match against Wigan in sight, Wolves fans are showing their enthusiasm in the most obvious way - by snapping up tickets in record time. Ticket sales for this eagerly awaited clash have tripled in the past two days meaning the away end at the JJB Stadium is rapidly filling up. Wigan have therefore asked us to inform all Junior season ticket holders to exchange away vouchers in advance from Wolfware, as this cannot be done at turnstiles on the night. The Warriors are expecting one of their biggest attendances of the season as Wolves fans traditionally travel in large numbers, regularly filling the away stand. As a result we encourage all fans planning to travel to the JJB Stadium to purchase a ticket in advance from Wolfware to guarantee your seat with the Primrose and Blue Army in the away end. Remaining tickets are on sale now from Wolfware until 5pm on Friday, priced £13 adults and £9 concessions. All supporters are reminded that 10% of away ticket purchased from Wolfware is retained by the club and invested back into the team. Ticket Office Manager, Dave Gittins comments, "As usual, ticket sales for this game are phenomenal as it's a fixture that captures the imagination of the Warrington public. This year I am convinced that with a large travelling contingent generating our unique brand of atmosphere, we can finally get one over on the 'old enemy' at the JJB Stadium."

Michael Sullivan is in line to start in the scrum half spot against Wigan on friday night, there is some doubt as to whether Chris Bridge will be fit enough to play after badly bruising his arm against St Helens. A dicision will be made after training today "Thursday " before naming the 17 to play. Paul Cullen will be looking for Sullivan to get some confidence back after a nightmare start to his Wire career against Salford .

Wigan will be hoping to make amends after a disastrous trip to Salford last weekend, they are on the same number of points as The Wire after making another poor start to a season.

There is an outside chance that Paul Rauhihi could be in the frame to face the Catalan Dragons on the 18th March at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in a game due to be televised on Sky, although he would ultimately like to have a game or two before the Challenge Cup in April.

8th March.Wolves players Michael Sullivan and Lee Briers were on hand to help Warrington PCT launch Warrington's No Smoking Day at The Halliwell Jones Stadium. Warrington PCT’s team of smoking cessation advisers work with primary care nurses and other staff including pharmacists to ensure that smokers have the back-up they need, firstly to kick the habit and then to stay smoke free. The service offers GP and locality based one-to-one, group and out of hours’ sessions including evening and Saturday morning clinics at a range of venues across Warrington.

7th March.Rd5 - Team News Paul Cullen welcomes back Logan Swann and Rob Parker to his 20 man squad to face Wigan on Friday. Swann, who has been suffering the ill affects on a virus for a fortnight is poised to make his return at the JJB Stadium, while off season signing from Bradford Bulls Rob Parker is hoping to make only his second competitive start in a Wolves shirt. Half back Chris Bridge, who suffered a minor arm injury against St Helens last Friday, has also been named in the squad. Wolves Fans Head to Wigan The loyal hoards of Warrington Wolves supporters are preparing to make the relatively short journey to Wigan Warriors in their droves on Friday evening. Following last Friday's gutsy effort against unbeaten St Helens, The Wolves will be looking to go one better as they travel to the JJB Stadium in buoyant mood to face local rivals Wigan. With both teams having registered the same number of league points, this Friday's fixture looks set to be a close fought affair. The encounter should be as exciting and thrilling as previous season's encounters as these two Super League heavyweights aim to prove their early season critics wrong. Tickets for the derby fixture are on sale now from Wolfware priced £13 adults and £9 concessions, and the club can reveal they are selling fast. Ticket Office Manager, Dave Gittins Comments: "Following Friday's total sell-out of 13,000 it's wonderful to see that we are clearly establishing ourselves as one of the best supported clubs in Super League. Last season saw us sell over 3,500 pre-match away tickets for this fixture and the club would like to again encourage everyone to get behind the team this Friday at the JJB Stadium." All junior Wolfpack season ticket holders must exchange their away vouchers beforehand at Wolfware as last season saw us completely fill the away end at the JJB Stadium. All other fans are also encouraged to buy from Wolfware in advance to avoid any disappointment on the night, and are reminded that 10% of all away ticket sales are retained by the club. All tickets can be purchased from Wolfware 9am-5pm, or online at www.wolfwareonline.com.

More Capacity Crowds Expected After an expected sell out against St Helens on Friday evening Wolves fans are being urged to buy season tickets to avoid being locked out again. Scores of supporters were turned away on the night as a full house watched Engage Super League leaders St Helens edge past a resurgent Warrington Wolves side. Some of the disappointed crowds outside the stadium were offering the club way over the odds for tickets, sadly the fixture was a complete sell out of 13,024. So far this season 33,218 fans have clicked through the turnstiles at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and with plenty of big names heading to town more capacity crowds are predicted. With more than 7,800 season ticket holders and healthy away contingents, very few tickets are now available for general sale, meaning the only way this season to ensure that you see all the action is with a season ticket. Warrington Wolves are offering fans discounted prices on season tickets from this month ahead of key home fixtures against newboys Catalan Dragons, the high flying Salford City Reds, champions Bradford Bulls and last seasons pace setters Leeds Rhinos. Head Coach Paul Cullen believes Warrington supporters can make a real difference to his side. He said: "The support from the stands and terraces was superb on Friday night; our fans know they can make a real difference when they are in full voice. The players want to experience atmosphere like this every game and the more season ticket holders we have, the bigger this great club can grow and progress into a leading force. There aren't many places that can rival The Halliwell Jones Stadium when it's packed to the rafters and I'm in no doubt there will be more and more sell outs this season." 2006 Season Ticket Update In addition season ticket holders receive priority with Playoff and Challenge Cup tickets, and also benefit from a saving of 10% on merchandise from the club shop. For further details or to purchase a 2006 season ticket please call into the club shop or contact the ticket hotline on (01925) 248888

Wolves Sell Out Warrington Wolves are delighted to announce that Friday's fixture against St Helens at The Halliwell Jones Stadium has now completely sold out. A capacity crowd of over 13,000 spectators is expected for this hotly anticipated Engage Super League XI fixture, meaning any fans without a valid ticket will now not gain access to the stadium. As no further tickets remain for the away end, the club advises any St Helens junior season ticket holders that haven't already exchanged their voucher for a ticket not to attend, as entry will be refused. No cash transactions will be accepted at any turnstiles and no further tickets will be available for sale.

1st March.Wolves Head for Total Sell-Out All tickets in general spectators areas for Friday's fixture against St Helens have now sold out, however a limited number of hospitality spaces are available to purchase within both the East and North Stands. Wolves Heading for Sell Out Less than 200 tickets now remain in home areas for this Friday's fixture against St Helens at The Halliwell Jones Stadium. The local clash in 2005 drew Warrington's biggest home crowds of the season and this year looks to be no different, fewer than 100 south tickets remain, whilst the both the North and East have fewer than 50 seats each. Due to the number of away supporters that St Helens are expected to bring on the evening, the South Stand season ticket holders cannot use their season ticket to access the West Stand for this game. Ticket Office Manager, Dave Gittins comments: "As with most home games this season, the South, East and North Stands will sell out prior to gameday, meaning any fans wanting tickets need to purchase quickly to guarantee entry to this eagerly anticipated fixture. Because St Helens traditionally sell all of their West Stand allocation, a full house of over 13,000 is expected at The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the first time this year."
